Please read our terms and conditions before buying goats and or kids
Go to our blog on our RESOURCES page to learn about the necessary items to prepare for when bringing home a goat.
You may be wondering why we offer small discounts for goat kids to go with a friend of some type unless you already have a goat friend on hand that will work.
For 2 main reasons:
Goats are herd animals and do better with another goat- especially young goats. These kids are brought up in social settings with other kids and are adapted to that. They tend to pacify each other when their human companions are not around. Kids may end up screaming for hours if left alone and unattended which can lead to stress and other issues.
Mature goats are better adapted but young kids on the bottle really need a buddy to go with so they are happier --and sot that new owners are not as stressed either.
We really are motivated to sell at least 2 young kids together.
You can get a two does, two bucks, or buck and doe combination with the understanding that you should wether (castrate) the buck(s) with does as they will procreate very quickly and will cause issues. We can help with wethering information.
Goat pickups are at the farm in Hempstead zip code 77445. Address provided to buyer. Please bring necessary transport such as cages, tarps, trailers, shavings etc for pickup to make your animal as comfortable as possible. Baby goats on bottle tend to do better inside a vehicle in a carrier or on a lap if you choose so.
Delivery can be arranged if possible.
There will be a minimum purchase required (with nonrefundable retainer paid in advance) and a travel fee ($3.50 per loaded mile paid in advance). We can deliver up to 120 miles from 77445 on specified dates.
Why do we charge more for disbud? Disbud charges are non refundable in the non refundable retainer if request is made to disbud a kid NOT already disbudded.
We technically are not charging for the procedure itself since this is a medical procedure that only veterinarians can take payment for HOWEVER what we are charging for is:
1) the alteration of the animal that does not need to be altered
2) compensation for any risks/damages
3) resources as disbuds can take anywhere from 1 week to 4 for housing kids. This disbud fee covers the room and board cost associated with waiting on animals to be disbudded or recovering from disbud otherwise kids not disbudded can be picked up sooner than disbudded kids. The fee is allocated towards shavings, milk, and resources used to house kids comfortably while they await pickup.
Many people opt to disbud kids for a variety of reason including:
Disbudding kids can come with risks including and not limited to:
We leave the option to disbud kids if unaltered up to the individual looking to buy kids. It is up to new owners to weigh the risks vs rewards of disbudding.
If you see a goat available and you would like to hold this goat, please discuss with us and then go through this portal to secure your hold. We no longer hold on verbal agreements or unpaid retainers.
DUE TO HIGH DEMAND: There may be several invoices out at once on same goats waiting for buyers. Goats are First Come First Serve via paid retainer status. Paid Retainers guarantee a hold of said animals. We usually cancel unpaid invoices after 48 hours of unpaid retainer. Invoices can be revoked at any time by RCRLLC.
Please read terms of invoice.
